Under The Boardwalk

Seriously, I think I've died and gone to heaven [circa the 1930s]...which I would strangely love more than anything. Since a young age I've longed to be sent to all of my favorite eras in a quick time warp. weird. but, I'd love it. Sometimes film, music & photos etc. aren't enough, ya know? The Chanel Cruise 2010: Merchants of Venice seriously had me drooling and google-eyed. I'm so diggin' the permed Clara Bow hair bobs and slouchy, elongating garments. Not to mention the prints! The art deco patterns... like Rachel Zoe would say, "I DIE!" A heaven sent show- I can't believe how good fashion is nowadays.

Normally I detest Karl Lagerfeld, but that show wasn't half bad.

Thanks doll,

I'm another who isn't usually a fan of Karl Lagerfeld, but I thought this collection was quite wonderful. I prefer actually 1930s clothes, but I was blown away by the makeup- must copy!

I don't think this was their best collection but I loved the ingenuity that went into the show. http://ramblingsperdiem.blogspot.com/2009/06/random-images.I really loved that they used sunglasses as a a mardi gras type of mask. so clever! The cape and barefooted-ness adds to the whole venetian carnival theme.

i somewhat agree. nor am i a fan of lagerfeld's
"prima donna" attitude- however, i loved this show. everything from the hair to the makeup to the scenery was almost perfectly interlaced. and i have such a soft spot for anything nostalgic. especially style. although, i am a fan of lagerfelds photos at times.

I feel the same way as you about wanting to travel in time to my favourite eras - always have. But these photos do help a bit!

my mom was lucky enough to be invited to this fashion show. she took some mind blowing pics (and a little boat to the island), and said it really was dream like a overwhelming. good post!
